Elly's Natural Skin Care - The Beginning February 25, 2022 17:11

For most of my life, I have had very dry flaky skin that itched constantly leaving red blotches on my face. For many frustrating years, I searched for lotions or creams that would help with my skin problem. Nothing ever worked. I tried the expensive stuff and the not-so-expensive.
Most of it, after using it for a little while, would cause my skin more irritation. My face began to progressively get worse as I got older. The red blotches got bigger, the skin flakier, and the itching was non-stop. I was at a loss.
One day my husband Bob suggested that possibly the chemicals I’d been applying to my skin for all these years through creams and lotions could be the cause of the problem.
He looked at the ingredient labels of several jars and bottles of lotions and creams that I had been using and discovered that they contained numerous chemicals including fragrance, alcohol, parabens, dyes, and a few other things he couldn’t pronounce.
My husband was on a mission to find a safe and effective solution for my skin. His research led him to discover the benefits of natural plant-based ingredients.
He discovered that by infusing plant oils with shea butter and essential oils, the result would be a nutrient- and vitamin-enriched moisturizing butter that could soften and protect the skin—and even help with certain skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and dry skin.
Bob found that natural plant-based ingredients are filled with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can dramatically decrease skin dryness and alleviate itching and irritation while soothing the skin and softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that normally accompany aging.
He also learned that there is a more natural way to exfoliate and remove dead skin from the body. Bob learned that sugar is a gentle abrasive, excellent for removing dead skin—and sugar is also a natural humectant that draws moisture to the skin.
Bob felt that using a good, chemical-free body & face scrub in conjunction with moisturizing shea butter should help my skin.
So he made both a moisturizing face and body butter, made with shea butter, plant oils, and essential oils — and a face and body sugar scrub, made with raw sugar, plant-based oils, honey, cocoa butter, and essential oils. Now it was time to put it to the test. Would it really help with my skin problems?
After a few days of using the exfoliating sugar scrub and moisturizing butter, my face was rapidly clearing up. The itching was subsiding, and the red blotches disappearing. I noticed immediately how much softer my skin felt. After two weeks, my skin issues were completely gone — no more itch, no more red blotches, no more dry and flaky skin.
That was 9 years ago, and my skin problems are now a thing of the past — but I know there are many women, men, and teens who continue to suffer from similar skin conditions and are searching for a solution.
After several family and friends noticed the big difference in my skin, they were curious to try what I was using. There were no fancy jars at the time — Bob made a few small batches of each product, put them into containers, and passed them out. Everyone was amazed at how soft and smooth these products made their skin feel.
It was suggested that we should share the butter and scrub with others dealing with skin problems. We followed up on the idea, believing it would be valuable to educate people on the benefits of using natural plant-based ingredients that truly support skin health — and offer an alternative to chemical-based skincare products.
