Capsaicin - a compound found in cayenne peppers, helps reduce pain sensations when applied to the skin. Capsaicin works by depleting substance-p from the sensory nerves in the affected area and preventing transmission of pain signals to the brain. 
Good for joint and muscle pain,  shingles, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia. The longer you use it, the better it works. (capsaicin may cause a burning sensation to the skin when first applied. This will go away after a few minutes and even though it feels like it, capsaicin will not burn the skin.
